The CineCats showcase features a uniquely creative variety of short films, all of which are 25 minutes or less in length. The projects cover a wide spectrum of genres - including comedy, drama, experimental films, and documentaries - and represent all ages and interests.
Each film is judged by a panel of regional film and video professionals. Films selected by the CineCats program committee and the Judges Panel are awarded special certificates. Then…for one afternoon, the Los Gatos Cinema will be transformed into a film showcase. And if selected, your film will be seen on the BIG screen!

What kind of films is CineCats looking for?
CineCats seeks films that tell a story; with a beginning, a middle, and an ending. We are looking for documentaries, experimental films, animated films – in short, just about any type of well-conceived film you’re interested in making.
CineCats will only accept films up to 25 min. in length, including credits - NO EXCEPTIONS (previous films have been as short as 30 seconds!). Remember, length is not a criteria in judging; quality is. All films are judged on their storyline, technical merits, interest, how well they use the medium to tell a story, and their overall entertainment value.
Note: When submitting music videos, skateboarding films, biking films, or projects depicting any athletic event, remember that our panel will still be looking for an underlying storyline.
CineCats will not accept corporate demo reels, personal demo reels, industrials, films that solicit goods or services, or training videos.
