The Film Showcase of Los Gatos, Califonia – 2009

What We Want...

What kinds of films are we looking for?

CineCats seeks films that tell a story: with a beginning, middle, and an ending. We are looking for documentaries, experimental films, animated films – in short, just about any type of well-conceived film you’re interested in making, which will tell viewers about something “BIG.”

CineCats will only accept films up to 10 minutes in length, including credits – NO EXCEPTIONS (previous films have been as short at 30 seconds!). Remember, length is not a criterion in judging; quality is. All films will be judged on their storyline, technical merits, interest, how well they use the medium to tell a story, and their overall entertainment value.

Note: When submitting your project, remember that our panel will be looking for your underlying storyline or theme. Also, we encourage you to compose or use original music so that we can broadcast your film on KCAT TV-15, the Los Gatos community TV station (using music for which you do not have the specific rights will prevent your film from being broadcast on television).

CineCats will not accept corporate demo reels, personal demo reels, industrials, films that solicit goods or services, or training videos.

Application Process
